Set up how patients pay you

Connect PayMongo or add your GCash so payment requests and online payments work.

Useful for Clinic admin Doctor

  1. Decide who receives the money. A doctor who is paid directly sets it up in My account › Billing (How patients pay this doctor): that is always the case on Solo and Duo, and doctors on Clinic Pro can do the same. On Clinic Pro the clinic can also be the payee; a clinic admin sets that up in Clinic Settings › Payments.
  2. On your account, choose Set up under the payment status line (Change once it is set up). Then choose Manual (GCash) or Automatic (PayMongo).
  3. For GCash, fill in the GCash name and GCash number (11 digits, starting with 09) and Upload QR (PNG, JPG or WebP, up to 2 MB). Payment requests cannot be sent until both the number and the QR are set.
  4. For PayMongo, choose the Mode (Test (no real money) or Live) and enter your Public key, Secret key and Webhook secret.
  5. In your PayMongo dashboard, add a webhook pointing to the Webhook address (paste it into PayMongo) shown here (Copy copies it), subscribed to checkout_session.payment.paid and payment.paid.
  6. Save (Save billing settings on your account, Save credentials for the clinic), then Test connection, which checks the saved keys.
  7. Clinic Pro: in Clinic Settings › General › Patient payments and VAT, Payment link lasts (days) sets how long a payment link works, and a VAT-registered clinic ticks The clinic is VAT-registered, sets the VAT rate (%) and says whether List prices include VAT. Senior Citizen and PWD patients get 20% off and are VAT-exempt automatically.

Common questions

Can I start without PayMongo?

Yes. Choose Manual (GCash), or simply record payments yourself with Record payment on an invoice, and connect PayMongo later. With the GCash QR, patients pay and send proof, which you verify.

I do not see Billing in My account.

It is there for a doctor when patient billing is part of your plan (an add-on on Solo). Without billing there is nothing to set up.

Where do I set VAT or how long a payment link lasts on Solo or Duo?

Those belong to the clinic as payee, so they are Clinic Pro only. A doctor on Solo or Duo sets up GCash or PayMongo only.

Does DokEMR take a fee from patient payments?

No. Only PayMongo's standard transaction fees apply, and they settle straight to your PayMongo account.

Who can change the clinic's payment credentials?

Only a clinic admin. Other roles see the Payments tab but cannot change it.

Why is there no clinic payee option?

The clinic as payee is a Clinic Pro option. On Solo and Duo the doctor is the payee and sets this up in My account › Billing.
