Switch to DokEMR from another EMR

Moving from another EMR? We can import your existing patients and records into DokEMR on request.

  1. Tell us you are switching and which EMR you use now. Already on DokEMR: open Support in the side bar, choose New ticket and say you want to import from your previous EMR. Not signed up yet: mention it when you book a demo or get in touch from the website.
  2. Say what you would like brought across: your patient list and, as far as your old system can export them, visits, diagnoses, prescriptions, lab results and files.
  3. We look at what your old system can export and tell you what can be imported, before anything is loaded into your clinic.
  4. We do the import for you. Your patients then appear under Patients, with their history on each chart.
  5. Open a few charts you know well and check them. Tell us if anything looks wrong and we put it right.

Common questions

Which EMRs can you import from?

Tell us which one you use. What can come across depends on what your old system can export, so we look at it with you first and say what can be imported.

Will my old records be on the patient charts?

Yes. Imported patients are listed under Patients like any other, and the history that could be imported (for example visits, prescriptions, lab results and files) is on their chart.

Can I do the import myself?

Not from the app. Ask us and we do it for you, so the records are checked and matched to your patients properly.
