Choose what patients see in the portal

Switch receipts, lab results, and documents on or off for the patient portal.

Useful for Clinic admin Doctor

  1. Open Clinic Settings. On General, go to What patients see in the portal. Changes save as you make them.
  2. Receipts controls the receipt download. Verified payments show either way.
  3. Choose whether patients see In-house lab results (once released) and External (outside lab) results.
  4. Tick the documents patients may open: Prescriptions, Medical certificates, Lab orders, Referral slips, Medical abstracts, Physical exam reports and Diagram notes.
  5. Turn on Patients can ask for a copy of their record to offer it; you approve each request.
  6. Ask for an emailed code on a new browser adds a 6-digit email code after the password when a patient signs in from a browser they have not used before.

Common questions

A patient says a lab result is not showing.

In-house results show once they are released, and only if In-house lab results is on. Outside-lab results need External (outside lab) results on. Clinical photos are never shown in the portal.

Does hiding a document delete it?

No. It only stops showing in the portal; it stays in the chart.
