Upload an outside lab result
Attach a result that came from another laboratory.
Useful for Doctor Med tech Rad tech Encoder Clinic admin Secretary
- Open the patient and go to the Results & Images tab. Choose Upload result.
- If your plan reads results with AI, choose Read values with AI (AI reads the type, the exam date and the values for you to check) or Just attach the file. When the clinic has no AI credits left, only attaching is offered.
- Pick the files (several at once if you like). When only attaching, also choose the Type of result and the Exam date. A doctor, Med Tech or Rad Tech can leave Add a note to Medical History ticked (with an optional Note) so the file also shows as a Medical History entry.
- Choose the Encounter it belongs to: today's visit that is going on, a new Lab Review encounter today, or none (it stays standalone).
- Choose Upload and read (or Upload). Each file shows how it went. A reading that needs you opens Review AI reading: check every value against the source beside it, correct or remove rows, then Approve & save. The values go into Medical History.
- A result already on the tab can be read later with its AI Draft button (Review AI once approved). Edit info corrects its details and Delete removes it (it asks first).
Common questions
Why did some results save without a review?
When the clinic turns on automatic approval, a confident reading that matches the patient, has an exam date and has no warnings or duplicate saves by itself. Its card says AI auto-approved.
Can a PDF be read?
Yes. Its pages are read on the clinic's OCR pages first, then by AI. A locked PDF asks for its password; its unlocked pages are kept instead of the locked file.
What is different when a Med Tech or Rad Tech uploads?
Their upload is the clinic's own lab result (In-house) and is released at once. A Rad Tech uploads imaging (X-ray, ultrasound, ECG and the like) and a Med Tech everything else; the other kind is refused with a note saying who uploads it.
