Use the calendar, time blocks, and portal requests
See the month's schedule, block a doctor's time off, and answer patient booking requests.
Useful for Secretary Clinic admin Receptionist Doctor
- Open Appointment Calendar in the side bar. It shows appointments, blocked time, birthdays and holidays by Month, Week or Day; move with the arrows or Today, and choose a day to list what is on it. On the month and week views an appointment is written surname first (RIVERA, ROEL), so two patients booked together are easy to tell apart. The chips under the dates hide or show each kind of entry (any of them, or all: the calendar then says everything is hidden, and the chips bring it back), and at a clinic with several sites Site shows one site's appointments.
- Choose Book appointment to put someone on the schedule. Book for which patient? opens with the patients most recently added; type a name or patient number to find anyone else, then press Enter to pick the first one it finds, or use the Up and Down arrow keys to choose another first.
- To mark a doctor away, choose Block doctor time. Pick the Doctor, From and To (the same day when left empty), and a Reason such as Vacation, then Block this time. Booking is not possible then. Blocked ahead lists the blocks, each with Remove.
- Requested in the portal lists bookings patients asked for themselves. Choose Approve (it becomes a confirmed appointment when the time is still free) or Reject with a reason. Its list shows the waiting ones; switch it to Approved, Rejected or All to look back.
