Give a patient portal access

Email a patient a link to set up their own portal login.

Useful for Secretary Doctor Clinic admin

  1. Open the patient's chart. On Patient Info, the Patient portal line says where the patient stands.
  2. If there is no button, the chart has no email yet: add one in the patient's details first.
  3. Choose Send setup link. The patient is emailed a link to choose their own password. If the email could not go out, the link is shown for you to pass on.
  4. If they have not used it, choose Resend setup link. Once they have an account, the button becomes Send reset link for a forgotten password.

Common questions

There is no setup link button.

The chart has no email address yet. Add one in the patient's details, then Send setup link appears.
